On Easter Sunday, April 12, while all major supermarkets are open, they will operate with reduced hours, in accordance with the lockdown measures in place due to the Covid pandemic.
Tesco
Extra, Metro, and Superstores: Open from 8 am to 8 pm on Good Friday and from 6 am to 10 pm on Easter Saturday.
Metro and Superstores: Closed in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland on Easter Sunday. All Tesco stores in Scotland open from 8 am to 8 pm on Easter Sunday.
On Easter Monday, Metro, Extra, and Superstores open from 8 am to 6 pm in England and Wales. Tesco Express maintains its usual hours from 7 am to 10 pm, having adjusted from its previous closing time of 11 pm pre-Covid. It’s advisable to check your local Tesco’s hours using their store locator before visiting.
Asda
The majority of Asda stores open as usual on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday from 8 am to 8 pm but remain closed on Easter Sunday.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s superstores open from 8 am to 9 pm on Good Friday, while smaller supermarkets are open from 8 am to 8 pm. They will be closed on Easter Sunday and reopen from 8 am to 8 pm on Easter Monday. Sainsbury’s Locals maintain their regular hours of 7 am to 9 pm.
